First experience in a Van

We did a little tour of the Landes and the Basque Country aboard one of The Family Van's electric campervans this summer. The team who looked after us is great, helpful, welcoming, available all through our trip if we had questions or needed help, you can trust them with your eyes closed.
The vans are recent, well maintained, functional, everything is there for a good trip.

A first in an electric campervan that went very well!

A friendly, responsive team that listens. There was everything you need to travel for a few days. We had brought a small extra blanket given the temperatures (February). We had not planned a set itinerary and made it up as we went along with places recommended to us or found on the internet. One to do again!

Thank you to Noémie and Kevin for a VERY warm welcome as well as the very clear and fun explanations/demonstrations! Being already a fan of “vanlife” myself, I wanted to share this experience with my best friend and above all to introduce her to this way of life. WE LOVED IT!! This van is extremely well thought out and fitted out, the space is very well used, we managed to fit absolutely all our things in ( we are 2 girls I should point out = a lot of things ). Top experience, and electric on top of that! It changes your life ( and the planet )! Thankss The Family Van for these wonderful moments. 🚐😎

I rented an electric van to discover the Landes with my dog (The Family Van is "Pets Friendly"). My biggest fear was struggling to charge the van. But actually, there are lots of charging points installed and what is more, easy to spot, with the ChargeMap app. I really liked travelling in silence :) And parking in the only space left... reserved for electric cars, to plug in. And then, the Landes département, and brilliant! I loved it! The team look after you, they provide support for the whole duration of our trip, if we have a technical question! Very reassuring!

I went away for a weekend with The Family Van for a journey along the Landes coast, all the way to the Basque Country! On this trip I took my mum, our flip-flops and our towels. It was not my first trip with their great electric vans and once again my opinion is unchanged. The vans are easy to handle, comfortable and go anywhere! I recommend them 200%

But The Family's team was very available and very efficient in answering all our questions and set us up in the best conditions to make the most of the trip.
The vehicles are in excellent condition and are very easy to get to grips with.
What's more, the fact that it is 1m90 high means you can park anywhere, which is extremely practical.

We had a great weekend around the lake at Lacanau. The van is very well fitted out and easy to drive. We appreciated the electric side all the more and had no charging problems at all. We went off in a van with a young child of 14 months for the whole weekend. The Family Van team not only gave us the names of magnificent campsites to park at but also really gave us confidence for this mini road trip along the coast. Driving the electric, automatic van is a real pleasure. Three seats in the front, fine for a baby seat. I recommend it x1000. Our experience was brilliant from start to finish. Recharging or thinking about the van's consumption is not a problem in itself since I find it fits perfectly with the slow and agile way of life (the prerequisite of campervan travel). Very well fitted-out van where everything is there and has been well thought out, very pleasant to drive thanks to how compact it is, you can park anywhere . It is easy to recharge either at rapid charging points or simply overnight on an ordinary socket at campsites while you sleep! Noémie and the team are very responsive and friendly, they are there to answer questions at any time. It was our first experience and I was a bit worried but in the end it was very simple! We had been itching to travel by van for a while. After a lot of searching, we came across The Family Van. It was a wonderful experience, both in terms of the team's support in preparing the trip and the electric van experience itself.
For 12 days we roamed the South West, from the beaches of Lacanau to Hossegor by way of the Pyrenees. We loved the freedom the van gives thanks to its go-anywhere size, its comfort and the peace of driving electric.
The region has charging points everywhere at really reasonable prices, magnificent spots and a cheerful atmosphere.

We tried TheVanFamily's electric campervan on a 4-day road trip in the Landes. We really enjoyed this ecological and economical experience. Indeed, no need to fill up with petrol (that's the whole point) and for charging, we stopped for the night at campsites or used rapid charging points during our lunch or sightseeing breaks. And what can we say about the van's fit-out? Ideal for 1 or 2 people, it offers a bed, a fridge and a kitchen area. A little studio flat on wheels, extremely practical. Personally, we are totally sold on this new concept.

First van experience for my boyfriend and me, we loved it. We visited the Basque Country (French and Spanish) at the electric van's pace.
We took the chance to surf thanks to the boards hired with the van.
The team are great and give loads of advice for van life beginners. They are super responsive if you have questions before or during your trip.

First of all, we were welcomed at Dax with smiles and enthusiasm. As vanlife regulars, we still needed to go over how to use an electric vehicle. The van offers classic, easy-to-use features, everything is thought through, anticipated, down to the smallest detail. It's the electric experience we want to stress: this form of propulsion is far better suited to a road trip than diesel, for loads of reasons! It's cool, quiet, restful! You can stop 100 times a day to take photos without worrying about the "heaviness" of starting the engine again. Thanks to regenerative braking you no longer touch the brake pedal as you come up to a roundabout or head down a mountain pass, and each time the gain in range is considerable. In the end we used 18 kW/h per 100 km, far less than Peugeot predicted. Rapid charging points are everywhere. On top of that, plugging in at a campsite on 8 or 10 amps practically recharged the next day's kilometres, making the cost of the night's stay pay for itself. And since Dax can be the starting point for an endless number of tourist spots in the mountains or on the coast, we recommend this experience with Family van without reservation! This little company deserves to be better known and we wish it fair winds!

The van is super comfortable and really easy to drive ( and this is coming from someone who gets stressed about everything ) it was brilliant, waking up in the middle of nature with the comfort of a little house is just wonderful. The best holiday in the world in fact

All the utensils, salt, coffee, duvet, pillows, everything! You just have to turn up with your own things!

A big plus for us, it's animal friendly, so you can travel with your four-legged companion!
So we were able to travel with our cat, who didn't want to leave the van again!

Very good 1st experience in an Electric Van. The range and the charging are not really a drawback. On holiday it lets you take your time and go and see things while you charge.

We had a magical trip in the Landes and the Basque Country thanks to The Family Van.We got to enjoy the magnificent landscapes and, thanks to their advice, a great surf lesson. We had an excellent trip thanks to thefamilyvan. We went as a couple with our 2 and a half year old daughter, it was our first campervan trip and they helped make it unforgettable!
I had heard about this company on social media and I admit the idea of travelling electric appealed to me from an environmental point of view.
Right from booking, our questions about the car seat (which was bought for the occasion, thanks again!) and other details were answered very quickly.
The van was very pleasant to drive and everything we needed was there. Camping chairs and a tent + sleeping bag were even provided. Everything is ultra functional and good-looking on top of that. The double mattress is very comfortable and suited all 3 of us!
You get used to electric very easily. We had a bit of a scare in the Spanish Basque mountains with the battery running down quickly but if you know about it, honestly we didn't feel held back by the electric at all. It's great to drive and to tell yourself you can enjoy nature while polluting it a bit less.

So we highly recommend the experience and with thefamilyvan in particular. Thanks again to the whole team for the organisation and the quality kit you make available.

Our campervan road trip was great. The van itself is very well thought out, we have space, it's airy and not too cluttered. Simple to use and really pleasant.

We had noted a few points that could be improved, like the blanket which was a bit small for two, I think making them individual could be nice, and adding a fixed mirror as well. The electric side is great in the sense that in terms of impact on the environment and quietness it is really important, for our part we struggled to recharge the van because a lot of charging points in Biarritz weren't working which caused a bit of stress but I think it's something you get the knack of and get used to.

In any case the size of the van let us go everywhere without any problem and the fit-out is really nice.

This electric van was exactly what we needed. Watch out for the limited range, but hats off for the comfort and the equipment.

An out-of-the-ordinary trip that let us reconnect with nature, discover new spots every day in a very accessible way and in complete freedom without any real detailed programme; a real joy!
The attentive, smiling and available team looks after you from the start to the end of the trip. Everything is designed so that you get the most out of your experience. The van is really well fitted out, every space is optimised with storage, a kitchen area, an outdoor shower head, a dry toilet, a sofa that turns into a double bed, an indoor and an outdoor table, outdoor chairs. Lots of things are also provided so that you have as little as possible to bring yourselves: crockery, bed linen, kitchen essentials etc.
In short it's an experience we loved, which is turnkey and which we recommend with our eyes closed!

The welcome was friendly, the van in great condition and the electric experience pretty cool in the end. The stress you feel at the start fades bit by bit. You just need to know it isn't made for long trips and high mileage. We'd do it again...

9 days' holiday in an electric campervan. It was lovely and pleasant to drive. If you stay in the same region and you are not setting off for hundreds of kilometres, the electric is not a problem! There is storage and the bed is fairly comfortable. The only drawback is that you have to wrap up well if you go when it's cold, because the insulation is very thin.

We rented the van for our 9-day trip through the magnificent Basque Country and were absolutely delighted! The fit-out is well thought out and of high quality, and thanks to electric mobility, driving is not only quiet and pleasant, but also environmentally friendly. At the same time, we were completely self-sufficient during our trip.

We would like to highlight the quality of the team's service: very friendly, helpful and reachable at any time during the trip. We would book again without hesitation!
