Incredible first van experience in the Landes and the Basque Country, with top-notch organisation from The Family Van team. The team gives us a roadbook that helps us organise our trip, gives us ideas about activities and places to visit all along our route. There are also recipes that work in a van. The van is super comfortable and has everything we needed to cook, eat outside, surf (chairs, table, clothes airer, boards, wetsuits, poncho, etc.). Also driving and charging the electric are super easy. The route was set up around each charge.
Our days were built around a surf lesson in the morning matched to our level. Then walks, visits to the different spots or back in the van to carry on our route enjoying the beautiful scenery. A big thank you to the team, we cannot wait to come back for the next group trip!!

A great route for the surf trip with recommendations for wandering around the area and discovering our magnificent regions in France. The Family Van provides a very generous meal hamper that kept us going all week!
Then on this kind of trip there are lovely people to meet, Antoine, who was our surf instructor, came with us all week across the different regions to hunt out the best spots and during the sessions they give great advice both for beginners and for intermediates!
During the week a group also forms, with a warm atmosphere full of energy!

A wonderful human and surf-ic adventure!

The Family Van offers a very well thought out route, from the Arcachon basin down to the Basque Country, for a perfect sporty and sightseeing holiday!
Kevin and Noëmie came with us for this week of surfing, skating, walks, hikes… Thanks to them, the group got to share good times together over drinks and barbecues in magnificent places.
The van itself is very well fitted out and has everything you need to live nomadically/on a campsite. As well as being very easy to drive thanks to the electric!
In short, nothing but good, don't hesitate and go for it :)

An unforgettable road trip!

The Van trip was a real first for me! Despite temperamental weather we were able to make the most of the surf sessions and there is no need for sun when you are accompanied by Noémie and Kévin who are real rays of sunshine.

On the programme: surfing, hikes, magnificent scenery, restaurants, good spirits and lots of belly laughs!

A journey starting from Dax heading for Sopela, then Bilbao, Somo, San Vicente and finishing in the French Basque Country at a spot that will make you never want to leave 🤩 Go without a second thought, you will not regret it!

It was an incredible experience! The vans are well thought out when it comes to storage, the bedding is good quality with a duvet that keeps you warm! We had the meals included in the van and it was nice not to have to go shopping all the time because we had forgotten something, and with the roadbook there were several recipes just for us with all the ingredients in the van! Then, talking about the Electric Van, I felt some apprehension about driving it. But it's so smooth to drive and you get used to it very quickly and the size of the van isn't too high or too big!
On the electric side, it charges quickly depending on the charging points of course but one night at the campsite was enough for us! Then there's an app to help you find a charging point nearby which helps when you want to do a bit of driving and plan ahead along the way!
Then the family Van has a concierge service if we had a problem during the day, which meant we could reach them at any time, easily and quickly.
The concept of the surf trip in an electric campervan is an incredible idea, we felt like we were at a summer camp for adults! Then the surf lessons with Antoine were really enjoyable, he listens and explains things to help us progress, he adapts to every level. Having him with us meant we could get an opinion on a town to visit, hikes or activities to do! At the end, we were so sad to all part ways, it's pretty crazy, the experience we had in one week!

Before, during and after the trip, the team is brilliant — and what a concept! Arriving at a spot deep in nature with the gentleness of electric is just incredible. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a simple, easy-going trip.

The trip was just great in every way!
It was a first for me in electric vans. It is perfectly suited to the travel format on offer, all the routes are worked out in advance for our comfort. You do not have to worry about range or other fears you might have about electric. Also, the vehicles are really well equipped and very comfortable.

The team is very welcoming and available! Always ready to give advice or to find solutions if there is a problem.

In short, nothing but positives, you can go for it without a second thought.

Great trip

The guides were on hand throughout the trip. We got to discover these beautiful regions, as well as being able to surf regularly depending on the conditions. The surf schools chosen were up to our expectations, shame that some days did not let us make the most of it because of the weather conditions… I recommend this trip! 🏄‍♂️

Unforgettable experience with The family…

I recommend this unforgettable experience with The family van, Kévin and Noémie are incredibly kind, attentive and very professional, from the very first contact to meeting them on site everything came together faultlessly.
The 5 days on the surfskate yoga van trip that I spent with the group were a pure treat, being the veteran of the bunch (53) I had a slight apprehension but I felt at ease straight away, as if we had known each other forever.
The surfskate lessons with @tensehorr helped me make good progress thanks to Hortense who is very considerate, professional, patient, a good teacher and who provided us with excellent boards from the brand Yow
The vehicles are extremely well maintained, well equipped and very practical.
Thanks for everything, don't change a thing, you are brilliant and I wish you all the best for the future.
See you next year to do it all again.

It was a great experience, a human, sporty and really enriching adventure. The idea of mixing a road trip in a campervan, with an electric vehicle, all of it in a group, makes the journey very interesting on every level. As for the surf lessons, Antoine is quite simply the best! Cool and a great teacher at the same time, he plays an important role on this trip by not limiting himself to his job as an instructor, he is a guide who is there from the start to the end of the trip. It was a real summer camp for grown-ups, I could not have hoped for better!!

Great experience that I warmly recommend :) The van is comfortable and really well fitted out. Driving is intuitive, and the electric battery is not a worry thanks to the route planning. We slept and surfed in incredible places, with a great instructor (thanks Antoine)! Excellent welcome as part of an organised camp. The vans are very well fitted out and easy to use. Noémie and Kevin are extremely welcoming, caring and trustworthy. The whole rental and the camp were perfectly organised. I warmly recommend it and will probably go back to enjoy the Landes and the Basque Country with The Family Van.

An unforgettable experience

An unforgettable experience, a real road trip through the sublime landscapes of the South West of France in an electric campervan and the best possible introduction to surfing (I had never surfed before the trip and was able to progress very quickly thanks to the lessons and the free surf sessions).

The vans were very comfortable and pleasant, as was each of the campsites. We went as a couple and really felt at home.

All the surf spots, surf lessons, restaurants, bars and activities (including a brilliant skate lesson), picnic spots by lakes and in forests had been chosen with great care by Kevin and Noémie, who accompanied us with their incredible energy and enthusiasm to show us the best places at every stage of the trip :)

Go without a second thought, we are already dreaming of going back.

Very good experience with Family Van. It is a smiling, available team that listens and offers a real decompression chamber thanks to its combined formula of "electric campervan trip" and "surf". The team is professional. The trip still needs fine-tuning to avoid the excess kilometres and to leave more time for wandering and enjoying yourself (the area from Lège Cap-Ferret to the Basque Country is the one to favour), to strike a fair balance between the nomadic side and the time to enjoy yourself (as a group or on your own). Another improvement we would expect to make this trip a best seller: more support and advice during the surf lessons for the learning side, and better defined surf times to avoid the delays caused by inertia (of a group that does not move at the same speed and that finds out too late where and when things start).

Superb week

Superb week: friends, surfing, hiking and tapas!
We set off as a group from Dax then in 2h we arrived in San Sebastian. We discovered the Spanish Basque Country and the Cantabria region, which is really worth the detour. And we came back up to the French Basque Country for the last two days.

The trip, the surf instructor, the campervan, the people we met, the stops the restaurants… everything was spot on! It was the first time my partner and I had travelled by van, and we will do it again without a second thought. Driving electric is a huge plus! It makes the journey and the immersion in the landscapes smoother and more natural.

The family van team was brilliant

The family van team was brilliant and really thought of everything to please its customers. The van is very well equipped and really easy to drive. The destinations were well chosen, the surf lessons good, especially at Capbreton. Two small downsides for me: the first was sharing the van with a stranger and only sleeping in the tent up on the roof (I knew in advance that it was shared but had not really understood the tent system and thought we could have swapped roles so I am partly responsible for that), the second the poor state of the equipment at the last surf lesson, that information should be passed on and dealt with because the Family team is very responsive! An experience to do again to know real life purely in a Van :) I recommend it!
